Gail Jones Nicholson is the author and director of the ten-minute one-act “To Live.” She is a transfer student studying theatre and French at the University of Nebraska at Kearney; also a former student and graduate at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, NE, with a degree in Graphic Design. She has a fascination with nineteenth century history and cultural issues, and her play was significantly inspired by the nostalgic environment of the Frank Museum.

Sounds of Gail

Working on The Roy Chronicles has certainly been an educational experience and a new challenge. Prior to my being recruited to the team, my foley experience went back only to simple sound effects, such as wind gusts and footsteps, produced for class-related projects in community college. The Roy Chronicles required these among a different array of effects, ranging from echoing water droplets to spaceship engines and ice lasers. The process itself was an adventure, and made hearing the finished effects when each episode aired - when the whole thing was brought together - all the more satisfying.
