Updated: Jan 15, 2018

Voice actor (Dr.knokitoff, Birdu, Officer John Baconne, and others)

Benjamin Hill is ecstatic to be involved with The Roy Chronicles! A Senior Musical Theatre Major at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) and North Platte native. He has always been curious about the radio world and now has been voice acting for two productions and two years: Drifting Beyond a Sci-fi Drama and now The Roy Chronicles. He recently was on-stage in the Recital Hall for UNK’s Opera Workshop production of Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel as Peter/Father where he also worked as Technical Director. Last summer he worked with Theater West as Fakir in The Secret Garden and Assistant Costume Designer for Theater West’s TOFY (Theatre Opportunities For Youth) production of Disney’s Aladdin Kids. He completed his first time as Stage Manager for Two X Tenn at UNK in February 2017. Other roles: Ziggy, Young Frankenstein The Musical; Barber, Man of La Mancha; Jonathan Peachum, The Threepenny Opera; Joe, Oklahoma!; and Swill, How I Became a Pirate.

Oh no, that is my name: Doctor Knokitoff. Oh, do not touch those, some of those test tubes have chemicals that can end the fun we will have. Wait, you said Roy, correct?

Benjamin's Roy experience

It’s a lot of fun being a part of a radio show, even if it’s only being recorded, then edited and aired. When we meet to record creativity and fun ensue, we still get our work done for the week, but have fun in the process. With Roy, there are limitless opportunities of characters, aliens, species, and variations from all of the above which can make things difficult for the small amount of voice actors. I’m mostly glad that my characters haven’t died in a death scene like with Fink in Drifting Beyond. It’s also really fun to play the evil scientist Dr. Knockitoff! I would highly recommend anyone to play a mad scientist just for once in their lifetime, it’s life-changing.
